About For No Earthly Reason

This installation, “For No Earthly Reason,” allows the viewer the sense of coming upon unearthed, natural objects that create a strange landscape. Hundreds of 4"-7" clay pinch-pots mimic organic shapes, perhaps vessels, maybe recently discovered geological remnants. Copper wash painted on the exterior conveys the quality of scratches and scrapes upon bone, while the glaze interiors represent milky, buttery or charred remnants.

The components of “For No Earthly Reason” might be arranged in tonal rivulets or shown in a dense grouping depending on the venue.
